Kagora

Kagora is a web forum system, written in Perl, using a MySQL database backend. Features include: Moderation - The Kagora system allows direct as well as moderated forums. In direct forums, messages appear as soon as they're posted. In moderated forums, they need to be previously approved by a moderator; Intuitive interface - Forums appear to the user in three frames: a menu, used for navigation, a list of messages, and a frame used to display messages and to post new messages; Skins - Forums are associated to skins that enable to customize their look; and Support for i18n - All messages produced by the system are grouped in a separate module.

Acity

Acity is a web-based, threaded discussion tool. It's *fast*, very intuitive to use, was beta-tested by more than a hundred people, and is now totally stable. Acity remembers each user's preferences, and allows unread-only browsing, like a usenet-news system. It offers the ability to manage several different groups, with different themes, forums and administrators for each group. It runs on any OS that have Apache, mod_perl and a SQL server.

BAZAAR

BAZAAR is a fully GPL WWW conferencing program with a MySQL back end. It is based on an earlier version of WWWThreads, but significant changes and enhancements have been made. For example, code has been simplified and many common tasks have been moved into an API to facilitate distributed development. Main features include: Multiple language support (user selectable and easy to add language files), Themes support (selectable at the site level), Profanity filter, Username filter, Error logging, Abililty to restrict users to specified categories by category number, and Fine grain access control using Unix style permissions.

Master Message Board

Master Message Board is a Web discussion board system written in Perl. It features: Multiple message boards, Supports private, full public, and read-only forums, User registration and authentication, Easy customization, Administrative options to add/delete, or ban users by ip or e-mail address, and more.

ZenToe

ZenToe is a set of Perl/CGI scripts for running a webchat/BBS, Inspired by Slashdot. It currently features message boards, user account management, and more. ZenToe requires wwwlib.

Ruboard

Ruboard is easy to use, simple, configurable web board - a place where people can discuss things interactively usign their browsers. Although initially based on Matthew Wright's WWWBoard, Ruboard has been completely rewritten to improve stability, configurability and ease of use. Main features include: Stability with file locking, Compatibility with WWWBoard, User registration and password protection options, Ability to post messages, images and url's is controllable through passwords, IP blocking, Multiple language support (Russian and English for now), Controllable size of board, Support for multible boards, A lot of visual enhancements and configuration options, Can add advertisement on every generated page, and more.

FutureForum Web Discussion Software

FutureForum is a Web-based forum software written in Perl. It uses MySQL for storing data on backend and uses DBI:DBD module. Key features include: uses 'branch_no' design to keep track of 'threads', can display top page of messages with numerous selection or sorting methods, multiple board methodology, configurable max message and branch length vars, optional email responses to user, blocks duplicate messages, option to view only parent threads and expand thread on top page, has 'toggle menu' function on top page, can select by date range and 'new' posts, and other selection criteria, sends response email of message to original poster, automatically displays 'new' button for recent posts, has security routine, and much more.

eThreads

eThreads is a collection of free GPLed Perl scripts which allows you to run threaded discussion forums on your site. It uses a SQL backend and supports multiple completely customized forums off the same scripts. Other features include: easy web-based forum setup, incremental thread expansion, multiple server support, full forum customization, moderated forum support, language independant coding, and imageset support.

DForum

This is a Perl script that allows you to create and manage a discussion forum on your site. Features include: clean interface, easy to set up, small data files, uses common headers and footers (so that you change the look of all pages at any time), automatic archiving of old messages (monthly), and online administration.

Anon's WWWBoard

This is a modified version of Matt Wright's WWWBoard. Features extended from WWWBoard include: Sorting posted subject by modified time, created time, and subject ID, Forwarding posted message to the specified email addresses, File locking, Supporting template for the posted html files, and Check disk free space before do any operations.
