A light-weight and feature-rich picture gallery for Linux or Windows that organizes uploaded pictures into searchable categories, creates thumbnails for them, and stores individual statistics for each one. It also looks very cool!
Other features include: CAPTCHA support, downloadable categories/sub-categories , user accounts and profiles, batch adding via FTP and batch deleting, user comments and ratings, user-defined fields, EXIF/IPTC support, the ability to add languages and skins, the option to rebuild thumbnails, an IP blacklist, and a comprehensive admin control panel that provides access to a great deal of settings and formatting options. Categories in the gallery are mapped to directories on the file structure for easy management and backup. An installer script is also included.
Things can get way too complicated. This script uses php to make a dynamic image slideshow, but stays very simple to set up. Just put the "slideshow" folder on your webspace, put the images in the appropriate folder, and your done! Of course you need PHP4 or above. The ease of use is also helped with one configuration file holding all the varaibles that control everything from size of the slideshow, to time increment, etc.. This script also has some features I have not yet seen in others slideshows. For instance a preloading step to load all the images before the show starts, and a a choice to use manual controls, or keep everything automatic.
